text messaging

Here's another pic done in the same way as the camera boy one. It's a mate of mine while text messaging. It's not finished yet, but i like it a lot how it is... so i might leave it.

camera boy to the rescue!

Ok, just thought i'd use a blog to show a recent picture i've done on Photoshop. It was done by printing off a photo, lightboxing it, scanning that sketch in then working off the printed photo as reference to photoshop.

Oh god. Right, 'cos photobucket has changed and i can't be f**ked to use it, this blog is lame. Well, it's probably better than the livejournal.com one i did... but that's irrelevant. Here's a sketch i did last night, and the painting that happened shortly after. Original sketch done with a new marker pen my dad got me... looks expensive. Bit better than the '4 for 50p' pens i usually get.

The two above images are crap quality, but that don't matter. It started out as a blue dude 'cos i wanted to do something to Frazier Irving (sorry if spelt that wrong) but i lost interest in that pretty quick. I started paintin over before doing a red painted cardboard background to stick it to.

Here's the finished thing, before i scanned it in and photoshopped his ass. There's a link for my deviantart page, where the finished-finished thing can be located. If anyone is interested and wants to see.

And that's it for this blog... Dunno when the next one will be. I hope the layout of this one looks okay, but if it doesn't, then... Ah well.
I borrowed the first two Swallow books off a friend last night, they're bloody amazing. I have a new love for Phil Hale, Jason Alexander and Jeremy Geddes. Absollutely brilliant. AND i just saw that the paperback of The Fountain, by Kent Williams is supposed to be out this week. I really wish i could afford that. Anyway, yeah i need to go.

PopBot

Okay then, guess i'm not putting up a new blog everyday... Ah well. Here's a pic of Popbot i did the day before yesterday, using a scanned in scribble of pop.

The original sketch was just the robot and several rectangles, i photoshopped the skyscrapers onto the retangles from google. I like this image loooads... though maybe i should have made the actual robot a bit darker. Hmm might change the contrast one of these days. And there was a kind of orange-yellow colour to it. Might have to re-post this soon. But for now... there you go.

Guitar pic

Right, the plan was to just fill the blogs on this site up with all the old pictures from my photobucket account, but i did this pic last night and am mighty proud of it. So, another step-by-step thing! Yaaay! ...So, i started off by drawing these two characters onto some cartridge paper with a marker pen. I didn't use pencil 'cos they were just gonna be quick sketches.

After doing those, i decided to stick 'em both together and make it look more interesting. But, of course, they didn't fit onto the A4 sheet. So, i got one of those plastic comic bag things and drew over the images. I couldn't find any acetate, so i went for the next best thing. I stuck them down to the back of an envelope, then took a photo. 'Cos it was dark, it gave it a weird coulour lighting that i kinda like.

I painted black over some of the bits and made some minor alterations, then declared it a finished piece. I'm really proud of it... But i'll probably end up messing about with it on photoshop or illustrator or something.

Right, well, that's it for this blog i think. I'm gonna be drawing a few more music-inspired pictures today probably. So this theme might continue into the next blog.

Step-by-step painting

So, this is the second Blog today, but i don't really care. I hate seeing my page with just the one blog on!! I just checked out Ash Wood's blog, 'cos he's my hero, and it is bloody brilliant. Just had to say that. Right, anyway, here's a series of images created by me... This is supposed to be like a 'step by step' thing of how i produced the final picture. You should know, this didn't take long, but it's pretty much the only picture i've done that i've took photos of the different stages. I usually start a drawing and finish it without realising...

That's the original sketch, and then the inked version. I say inked, i used a gray teal acrylic...

After adding the paint, i left it a couple of days before i realised it needed something else. So, i sketched up a soldier, painted it and cut it out. I was gonna add the soldier straight into the original picture, but as it was an A4 drawing it didn't fit. SO, i stuck both images onto the back of an envelope i'd recieved that day. I altered a few bits then declared it a finished piece. I'm waiting for someone to offer to colour it, 'cos i can't do it. A friend was going to, but he kinda lost interest i think. Anyway, that's it for the second blog today... gonna go draw some.

First blog

Okay, this is my first blog on this site. I have been using Livejournal.com for a while, but i really wanted to try this site out as some of my heroes use this site. What i did/do with livejournal is to put an image in every blog i do, mostly showing people what i've been drawing on the day i post. For this site, i'm just going to be putting up pretty much all the images i have in my photobucket. Here's the first from my Photobucket account.

Even though this was just a quick sketch, I used to use this image loads, for example it was my userpic on myspace for about three months. It was made using acrylics and chalk pastels... i think i did it about half a year ago now. Anyway, i'm not sure how often i'll be updating this site, but it should be near enough everry day/every other day as it doesn't take long.
